Let’s face it, sometimes we get sick of the way we have decorated our house. The trouble is, not all of us have time or money to constantly change everything. We might tire of things because they are outdated, or maybe we have just had them so long we want something new. Well rather than doing a complete (and costly) makeover of your home, you can change a few key things that will give you a whole new look without spending a lot of money. Here are some ideas to update your home on a budget.
Wall Color
Paint is one of the cheapest things you can use to change up the look of your home. You could redo a whole room for under $50 with paint, or just an accent wall in a bold color. Never underestimate how much color can change your mood or satisfaction. So if you’re bored looking at the four walls, change them!
Pillows
Pillow are easy to change out and can add a huge boost of color to your room. Even if you can’t afford to buy new ones, they are easy to make from scratch because they are straight sewing. If making a new one, you could even use the old pillow as a guide for size, besides the fact that you’d have instant stuffing.
If you don’t want to make new ones, try tying scarves around the ones you have. Just fold the scarves and place around the pillow, tie in place and viola! Instant color.
Slipcovers
Slipcovers aren’t just for couches and chairs anymore. You can use them to cover an old desk you don’t like, coffee table that has seen it’s better days, or even side tables. If you don’t know how to make them yourself, the slipcovers today are a vast improvement over past ready-to-use covers. Outlets like Surefit can provide professional looking slipcovers shipped right to your home.
