Scrapbooking Gift Ideas
Scrapbooking is not only a great way to commemorate your family events, but it’s also a nice gift idea. The general principles behind scrapbooking translate to other related gifts. Here are a few gift ideas you can make.
Scrapbook Calendar
How about making a personalized calendar for your loved one? I did this a few years ago for a couple people, and even though it was a lot of work, it was more than worth it. Blank calendars are available at most craft stores. Before you make your calendar, think about the various months and search your collection of photos and memorabilia that will remind the person of an event from that month. Gather some favorite quotes or sayings as well.
Since the calendar is meant to be personalized, choose some special days for the person you are giving it to and be sure to mark those on the calendar. Don’t forget to include silly days like ice cream day, celebrity birthdays, or take your dog to work day.
Scrapbook of Old Photos
You know all those great black and white photos you have of ancestors that you don’t know what to do with? Use them to create a special scrapbook. Find out their birthdays, anniversary, and other special facts about their life. Write out your memories of the person as journal entries. Be sure to make a copy of the photos so you don’t ruin the originals.
Recipe Scrapbook
Is there someone new to your family who might enjoy these? Or someone who constantly complains that they can’t remember how to make an old family favorite? A recipe scrapbook is the perfect idea. Gather favorite recipes, preferably written on recipe cards in the original handwriting, and create a mini scrapbook complete with photos. Use photos of the creator of the recipe or of a family gathering where the food is being enjoyed.
Dating Scrapbook
If you and your special someone are still in the dating stages, why not create a scrapbook that celebrates the journey your relationship has taken? Include mementos, notes about the dates, your favorite date activities, thoughts on your first date, and anything else you feel would make your book special. Don’t forget to include lots of pictures as well.
Shadowbox
Perhaps you want to highlight one person photo or event. Use scrapbook paper, quotes, and photos to create a one-of-a-kind shadowbox.

I love scrapbooking! I’ve been working on a scrapbook for my mom. I love the recipes, and the shadow box idea. I might have to scrapbook a recipe book for myself!
